Using spaciv for the first time: how to log in and find your way around the interface, account and projects.
This guide walks you through logging into spaciv and getting familiar with the interface. Use it before starting Level 1 so you know where everything is.
spaciv runs in the browser. Open Google Chrome and navigate to your spaciv sign-in page. The URL will have been provided to you by your organisation or by the spaciv team.
1. On the sign-in page, find the lower email field labelled Email address.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Click Request Access Link.
4. Check your inbox. You will receive an email with a single-use link.
5. Click the link to log in. No password required.
The following options are only relevant if your organisation has set them up with spaciv:
1. Enter your email and password in the upper fields on the sign-in page.
2. Click Sign In.
Click Sign in with SSO at the bottom of the page if your organisation uses single sign-on.
Note: If you are unsure which login method to use, check with your organisation or the person who invited you to spaciv. Most accounts use option A, magic link.
After logging in, you will land on the spaciv homepage. This is your starting point every time you open the app.
The most important part of the interface is the sidebar on the left. It has two distinct sections:
The top section of the sidebar is youraccount. This is where all your data lives and where everything is set upbefore building projects.
You do not need to know what all thecomponents of your account are yet, except that this is where your data isstored. The Academy lessons will introduce each part one by one. For now, justnotice that they are all here, in the account section.

The lower section of the sidebar showsyour projects. Each project has its own set of dashboards listed beneath it.
If your project is already set up by our team, this is where you can find everything that interests you: charts,visualisations, and forecasting graphics. All the information for your reports in one place.
Dashboards and cards
Each project is made up of dashboards.Each dashboard is made up of cards, which are individual visualisations of yourdata. The dashboard names tell you what you will find inside, like headcount data for your organisation, how employees work and use space, how much space you need or have available. Click through the dashboards to explore the different views. The titles are self-explanatory and the visualisations are designed to be read at a glance.
Opening a project
· From the homepage, find your project under Your projects.
· Click the project name to open it.
· The dashboards for that project will appear in the lower part of the sidebar.
· Click any dashboard name to open it.
Your demo account comes with template projects already set up.
To go back to the project overview atany point, click Home at the top of the account section, or click View All Projects beneath your project title.
Note: Your demo account comes with template projects already set up. These cover multiple spaciv use cases and are a good way to explore what the platform can produce before you start building your own.
Your profile icon sits in the bottom left corner of the screen. Click it to access the following options:
· My profile: view and update your personal details
· Accounts: switch between accounts if you belong to more than one
· Account settings: manage your account name, logo, and organisation information
· Sign out: log out of spaciv
If you want more space to focus on thecards in a dashboard, you can collapse either sidebar.
Left sidebar: click the collapse button on theleft edge of the sidebar to hide it
Right sidebar: click the collapse button on theright edge to hide it
Both sidebars: click the arrow button in thetoolbar to collapse both at once and maximise your view
Click the same buttons again to bring the sidebars back.
Every dashboard can be filtered to showa specific subset of your data. Filters let you focus on one department,building, area, or any other property in your dataset.
Filters do not change your data. They only change what is displayed on the dashboard you are currently viewing. Remove the filter and your full dataset returns immediately.
How to apply a filter
1. Open the dashboard you want to filter. Look for the filter panel in the right sidebar.
2. Select the property you want to filter by, for example Department.
3. Select the value you want to see, for example Engineering and Technology.
4. The filter is applied immediately. All cards on the dashboard update to show only that subset.
5. To remove the filter, click the clear option next to the filter. Your full data returns.
